Hi *****, what book was your teacher teaching from and what things was he teaching that was wrong? As far as worrying, I know it's hard not to worry but as long as we do our best, there is no reason to worry. Do you think God has any influence on which school you will go to? Of course He does. He may choose to have you go to the last college you would have picked. But one thing is for sure! If you earnestly pray for His guidance and truly wait for His answer, while working your hardest and doing your best. He will make clear without a doubt where you are to be and the most awesome thing about listening to Him, especially when He says to go where you would not have chosen, is to see Him work and reveal to you why He sent you there.

1year ago I felt the Holy Spirit heavy on my heart. I received 2 e-mails from 2 different people in Washington DC asking me to go to Ukraine and teach what my job is, leasing farm equipment. I earnestly prayed about it and for God to show me what He wanted me to do and whatever it was, I would listen. That evening we had Awanas. We had a guest speaker, our Awana Missionary, Steve Schenk. While Steve was talking with the kids at council time he mentioned in about 10 words that He was going on a mission trip to Egypt that summer. There was something that was like a whisper that I felt I should ask Steve more about this trip to Egypt that He was going on. We spoke very little about the trip that night but he said that he would send me some information. In the next month or so one thing after another came up about Egypt. God was making it clear that I should look into this more. I set up a meeting with Steve to learn more about what he was doing in Egypt. I told him that I loved children and that I wasn't sure yet but that I thought God was leading me to go to Egypt with him. I told Steve that I would be praying more about what God wanted me to do and he gave me information on the trip and what the expenses would be. The very next day a means for the cost of the trip was provided. The exact amount I might add.

God sent me to a place that in my wildest dreams I never would have thought I would be able to go. "EGYPT"

There where many seeds planted and a lot of watering throughout the trip. I praise God for His awesomeness and I thank Him for allowing me to be a part of His plan. He has allowed me to have a great relationship with three young sisters along with many others and you all have been a part of my faith and growth in Christ in which I thank you.

    Jeremiah 29:11-13 (New International Version)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

*****, God has a plan for your life and He wants you to have things and to go to many places and to do many things, especially when you use all that He has given you to glorify Him. He has set up a way to reveal the things that he wants you to have and places He wants you to go and things He wants you to do. You must first ask God for His guidance through prayer and don't be anxious for His answer "now". You must wait patiently for His answer while continually seeking Him. When you seek His will with all of your heart He will reveal It to you.

    I love you *****,
    Steve

God is always in control. Awesome, I'm very happy for you. This is the next block in your foundation. Work your hardest and continue to do what's right (in God's Eyes) and I'm sure this block will be a large, fine carved one.

    Ephesians 2:19-22 (New International Version)

19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

  • OGBBC (New Conference) Meeting ...Continued

I just heard from my daughter which works at coffee shop close to the OGBBC NC meeting. She is like a candle in a hurricane, a young girl who wear's Christ on her heart, from the inside out. She is a witness for Him at the coffee shop by example of her loving nature and the willingness to share Him with whoever she is led to.

The coffee shop was very busy today with mostly German Baptist due to so many being down the road at the meeting. She said that many of the older GB's were very rude along with much of the young folks. The young married couples where very nice though.

One of the young coworkers made a comment to my daughter later in the day which bothers me tremendously.

She said that she was going to start using "German Baptist" as a cuss word. She was half kidding but the behavior of some was such that a comment like that was made.

I have no issues with the uniform of the German Baptist and actually respect the desire of setting a Christian example of dress that will allow others to recognize Christ through each individual as well as the body.

    However,

When we put our Christianity on display for all to see, we better be the real thing. We risk taking the Lord's Name in vain when we show Christ on the outside yet we show lack of love on the inside. It seams to me that many GB's are concerned about others in the GB church seeing or finding out when a rule is not being adhered to but are not concerned when an outsider sees something contrary to the GB Church or Christian life itself.

We will all stand in front of the throne one day and give an account for all of our actions here.

I pray that when I slip up and sin that only a stronger brother or sister in Christ would see to help restore me, not a non believer where I give the devil more ammunition and the unsaved says, "Look at that hypocrite, that's why I'm not a Christian".

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!   We must put the uniform of LOVE on. No matter what we look like.

Please pray for the young girl that made this comment. What she saw wasn't of Christ but of the sin nature that we all have until the day we are glorified. I also hope this will be discussed with the OGBBC congregation.

    a brother in Christ,

    steve

p.s. I hope to share more about the meeting soon.

  • OGBBC (New Conference) Meeting

I just attended the OGBBC (New Conference) meeting in Troy OH.

I am a fellow Christian with an outside view of the OGBBC. Most all of my family are not saved and would consider myself a Paul, previously a Saul. I thank God for revealing himself to me and choosing me to be one of His children.

For some reason, I'm not sure why, but God has put a heavy burden on my heart for the OGBBC. I don't pretend to have all of the answers but I feel God is giving me things to say.

First of all the OGBBC IS FULL OF CHRISTIANS WHO LOVE THE LORD. That doesn't mean our sin nature or self has left us though. I have just witnessed a split in the OGBBC Body. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the more anabaptist elders in 08 at the annual meeting who clearly displayed a legalistic point of view. That was the old nature of self that was coming through. We all have that in some way shape or form. This doesn't mean he has lost his salvation. I am sure he still loves the Lord and his main focus is Christ. He has just allowed his anabaptist point of view mixed with self to come through.

It is extremely important that the N.C. CONGREGATION SHOW LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. Do everything that is possible to restore the love for one another. Without this mind set it will only hurt both parties not to mention bleed out to the unsaved and give them even more ammunition not to become one of us. (Christians)

The devil loves division. For this very reason Christ told us, Above all things,  Love one another, so that they will know you are my disciples.

Please keep the outside world's point of view important to you. If we display Love they will see Christ. If we display division and quarrels, they will see hypocrites. It's much harder to do what is right but that is what Christ would want.

Evangelism needs to be a focus of the church. If our focus is on sharing the eternal salvation that we have been privileged, we will have less focus on self. Self is why we had over 30,000 Christian denominations, and today another was added. We get it wrong when we get so wrapped up in our rules and regulations that we lose our first love. When we are wrapped up in sharing with others right where they are, our first love stays right along side of us because we are loving others. This is what we are called to do, which is against our original nature.

I really liked what I heard at the meeting. It seams to be a renewing of the spirit.

Got to go for now but plan on continuing later.

    a brother in Christ,

    steve

  • Religion and it's flaws are due to man and his flaws.

Just a few thoughts from a writter that hopefully we believe was God inspired along with some of my own thoughts which I hope is God inspired.

1 Corinthians 11:16 (King James Version)
16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

    1 Corinthians 3
1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

    Colossians 2
1For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. 5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. 20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

    Colossians 3:12-17 (King James Version)
12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

    Galatians 2:6-17 (New International Version)
6As for those who seemed to be important—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judge by external appearance—those men added nothing to my message. 7On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles,a]'>[a] just as Peter had been to the Jews.b]'>[b] 8For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles. 9James, Peterc]'>[c] and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews. 10All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.
Paul Opposes Peter  11When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. 12Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. 14When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? 15"We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' 16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. 17"If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!

Religion and it's flaws are due to man and his flaws, imposing his interpretation of God's Word onto others. Paul clearly realized this and aknowledged he had flaws as well. Even peter perverted the gospel in imposing laws and traditions of man. Pauls common theme throughout his writtings was that of Faith, Hope and Love. (Not Laws Traditions and Self.)

Religion is man's attempt to bridal salvation. It is hard for us to understand how one can have salvation that looks and thinks different than we do,   except through Love.

If one truly Loves, they would be willing to give thier life so that others would have life.

How can one have the saving knowledge of eternal life and not share it with ALL.

    a brother in Christ,

    steve
